One of the day’s organisers, Roberta Scarpa who is based in Venice, explains, ‘Around 700 people came to the venue overall, as part of an event called Fuori di Banco. We had a stand in the hall. We also held the Job Day online at the same time, so people all over Europe could participate. We had about 250 job seekers registered online.’

Along with the potential employers, jobseekers also had the chance to meet advisers to hear about living and working conditions in the countries hosting job vacancies.
Teqwork, a company that was onsite to recruit, explains their interest in participating in a E(O)JD is down to the ability to meet jobseekers one-to-one. ‘We are convinced that finding the right candidate goes beyond just social media.

‘We try to visit European countries wherever possible, to meet jobseekers, companies and schools to promote our business. An event like EURES’ European (Online) Job Days gives us an excellent platform to do so.’

Roberta is happy to be able to offer them the chance to meet interested jobseekers. ‘It’s hugely satisfying to play a part in helping jobseekers connect with the employers who could help change their lives,’ she says.

If you are interested in taking part in an E(O)JD, either as a jobseeker or as a company, take a look at the platform. This shows you all up coming fairs. If you are just starting out, are between jobs or are simply looking for a new challenge then why not take part?

Alternatively, if you are an employer, your vacancies are published to a wide audience and you can screen CVs to see if appropriate candidates are applying. You can then select potential candidates for interview.

With many of the Job Days now being held online, you can even participate without worrying about travelling – just follow the instructions to submit your CV and if an employer is interested you may even be able to arrange an interview online. You’ll also get information on life in the country in which you are interested in working.

Job days take place across the 28 countries of the EU along with Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Lichtenstein, and employers get access to thousands of CVs for free. So check out the upcoming events and see what opportunities are there for you.
