At a time when COVID-19 is affecting the entire EU, the European Commission is coordinating a common European response to the COVID-19 outbreak to reinforce our public health sectors and mitigate the socioeconomic impact in the EU. We are mobilising all means at our disposal to help EU Member States coordinate their national responses. Go here for all the latest COVID-19 news from the Commission.

Strong measures are being taken to limit the spread. The Commission is aware of the impact of border closures on the free movement of workers, and in particular, those who commute regularly to another EU Member State for work. That is why the Commission has issued new practical advice to ensure that mobile workers within the EU, in particular those in critical occupations to fight the coronavirus pandemic, can reach their workplace.
