EURES Finland is hoping to attract the attention of job seekers with an interest in the tourism sector, and invite them to participate in their upcoming European Online Job Day, due to take place on the 27th September.
The recruitment event entitled, “Work in Lapland- Welcome to Finland” (Work in Lapland- Welcome to Finland) aims to connect job seekers from all across Europe, with employers from the Finnish tourism, hotel and catering sectors.
But could working in a hotel in Lapland really be that different from working in your local Holiday Inn? We’ll let you be the judge of that. Just take a look at the “Work in Lapland- Welcome to Finland” video to see for yourself.
Scenes of cosy log cabins, snow covered landscapes, and the amazing spectacle of the Northern Lights… feeling inspired yet?
EURES Staff member, Tuija Pahnila, hopes so, “The aim of the video was to present the freedom and redemption from the busy world and traffic noises. We wanted the viewers to feel the Nordic atmosphere and to provide them with grounds for lifelong dreams”
Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region, and as well as breathtaking views it also enjoys a booming travel and tourism industry. It requires a huge international workforce every year, especially for the winter season but not exclusively, long term prospects are also possible.
It’s clear to see from the video that Lapland is a work place like no other. Where else can you work for the real Santa, or be a husky or reindeer tour guide? Other positions that may seem “normal” anywhere else in the world are given a magical twist by the unique location of Lapland.
The “Work in Lapland- Welcome to Finland” online recruitment event is the perfect opportunity to submit your application for a variety of positions, chat with employers, be interviewed, and take the first step towards a once in a lifetime opportunity.
